Ladies Golf at Rothley
Rothley Park Golf Club has a very active Ladies section that started circa 1923. There are all age groups including Full Playing, Intermediate, seniors, and juniors. Our Ladies are very friendly and every effort is made to integrate new members into the membership.
Rothley Park holds numerous prestigious events throughout the year. The Ladies organise two Ladies Open competitions and one Ladies Invitation.
Ladies day is on a Tuesday when we have priority on the course until 2:30p.m. (1.30pm in winter). We actively encourage ladies weekend golf both competitive and social. There are regular medal competitions and numerous Club Trophies that are competed for during the main playing season on Tuesdays and at weekends. Some of these are stroke play but others are stableford, greensome, and foursome in format. On other days, all members can play providing there are no tee reservations. These are shown on notice boards. On Saturdays there are some restrictions when Ladies can play to allow for Men’s Competitions. These are kept to a minimum. Representative golf is played in the County scratch league, Handicap league, Ladies County foursomes knockout and County Mixed Foursomes knockout. Friendly matches, high handicap, senior and junior matches also take place during the summer months. Ladies of all standards of golf are given an opportunity to enjoy playing against other Clubs. Junior girls are encouraged to play in all competitions. At whatever stage of golf you are able to play, highly competitive or social, the Ladies try to provide an opportunity for your enjoyment. Mixed social competitions are organised throughout the year. 9 hole competitions on Friday evenings are very popular in the summer. Meals are provided afterwards and weather permitting, include Barbecues.
